Going with the Flow: Deconstructing Water The under currents of water mirror the under currents of society – invisible to the naked eye but exerting a force that is undeniable. When we look directly at a body of water, we observe the surface. It is only the camera that sees what lies beneath. If we pay attention only to the ripples and waves on the surface, we miss the entirety of the situation! When the camera is focused directly at a body of water, the flow of energy and movement underneath the surface becomes apparent, and lines and patterns emerge that are not usually visible. I have created paintings and collages that expand upon that idea.
