Donna Litke

My work references cycles of life, that include growth and decay, a connection to the earth and something larger that resides within us. Finding beauty and depth in the imperfect flavors my work as well. My work can be personal and impersonal, touching memory and intuition. I work predominately with my handmade paper and include many other mediums as well as found objects. My process for each piece begins with an idea that is sparked by my material and I proceed with a combination of planning and chance that lead me in a forward direction. Texture, layering and combining 2 and 3 dimensional parts are often present in my work. My intention is for my work to allow the viewer to feel something present within themselves that has been overlooked.
