Award:  Exhibition of up to 6 selected works at  b.j. spoke gallery, Huntington, NY from August  1-28, 2019.  Promotion of Paperworks 2019 winners and their work on the b.j. spoke website, social media, and/press release.  An opening reception for winners and their guests.

Submission Deadline:  May 10, 2019
Exhibition Dates:   August 1 – 28, 2019.  
Artist’s Reception:  August  3rd – 6:00-9:00pm

Entry Fee: $35.00 for up to 6 images, all of which could be selected for the exhibition.

Eligibility: Artists living in the United States who use paper as their primary medium, as a substrate, or as the subject of a video.

Accepted Media: Works made of, on or about paper: cut paper, folded paper, woven paper, glued paper, drawings, paintings, pastels, prints, photographs, paper sculpture, 3D, bound books, collage, mixed media, video, and installation. You will be juried on the body of work you submit.  

Instructions: Installation pieces must be installed and removed by the artist. All work must be framed and wired and/or display-ready. Use plexiglass only – no glass for any shipped work. Artists are responsible for shipping their own work to and from the exhibit.
Size Restriction:  b.j. spoke gallery does not have a freight door. Work must be able to fit through a standard size door. Work must be no larger than 60” in the largest dimension.  Sculptures or Installations that are too large but can be altered to accommodate the gallery space will be considered. Notification: Artists will be contacted on or about May 31, 2019. Winners are required to submit a confirmation of participation by June 5, 2019 to hold a spot in the spot in the exhibition. Please send your confirmations to:

Promotion: Use of images and artist’s information: images of your art, your name, and/or artist statement, will be used on the b.j. spoke gallery website, social media, and for any other publicity used to promote Paperworks 2019.

Liability: All material will be handled with the utmost care. b.j. spoke gallery does not carry insurance for any type of artwork and will not be responsible for loss, damage or theft of your work. Artists are responsible for insuring their own work, if desired.
